چکیده
Wood veneer based composites have a great demand in present market as the material can utilize small diameter plantation timbers grown at short rotation cycle. This paper presents preparation and characterization of hybrid made wood polymer composite. The study explored utilization composite an adhesive for bonding veneers replacing formaldehyde-based adhesives. containing 40 % bamboo particles embedded matrix polypropylene was used sheet form to bind Melia dubia (Malabar neem) wood. were prepared both laminated lumber plywood configurations. assessment physical mechanical properties indicated that contribute significantly composites. density resultant higher (690 kg/m3 - 750 kg/m3) than conventional or lumber. Among properties, there no statistical difference tensile flexural strength configuration. Modulus elasticity compressive configuration plywood. Glue shear internal bond acceptable which suggests potential application these binding agent veneers. These could be special class with formaldehyde emission hazards.

متن کاملWood–Polymer Composites Prepared by the In Situ Polymerization of Monomers Within Wood
Wood–polymer composites (WPCs) were prepared from poplar wood (P. ussuriensis Komarov) in a two-step procedure. Maleic anhydride (MAN) was first dissolved in acetone and impregnated into wood; this was followed by a heat process; and then, glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and styrene (St) were further impregnated into the MAN-treated wood, followed by a second thermal treatment. Finally, the novel W...
متن کاملDensified Radiata Pine for Structural Composites
A novel wood-based composite has been developed for use in structural applications. The process was designed to utilize rapidly-grown, low density, wood species. Plantation grown radiata pine is particularly well suited to this process. This is a laminated composite, where the lamina may be comprised of various materials, some of which have been treated with the viscoelastic thermal compression...
